Five hours of arrival, 24-hour circadian Aulnat still turning. But some more than others. Hal Koerner and Nikki Kimball were the male and female winners of the 2007 Western States. They patiently exhausted all their opponents to finally flirt with the mythical barrier of 16 h and 18 h. Karine Herry seems to get 3rd and 19th overall while Jean Pommier, French expatriate, is 20th at 20 min of Karine. Christophe Jaquerod unfortunately abandoned after 10 hr 15 min race.

Hal Koerner, nominated by UltraRunning Magazine 5th best ultra runner in 2006 in North America, leads without apparent concern the partitioning of Western States in 2007. Among women, the gap between the first two of 2006, Nikki Kimball and Beverly Anderson-Abbs, is much smaller.
